“I have been photographing weddings since 2012. In the past few years I have attended many workshops and seminars with some great photographers. My experience during JVS’ workshop was like no other. He’s not only an amazing photographer, but a amazing teacher as well. I have attended two of JVS’ lighting workshops. The first in the Summer of 2014. So once I heard he was in town again, I immediately signed up for his 2-Day Lighting Masterclass which was in the spring of 2015. I may have been the first one to sign up.
Entering my first workshop with JVS, I had the same expectations as most workshops I attended. I thought, “Hey this awesome photographer is going to be in town. Why not sign up. I ‘ll always pick up something here and there.” What I didn’t expect was that this workshop was really going to be a game changer for me. It opened my eyes to different techniques and equipment, and as well as ways to think differently. It has changed the way I use my flash, the way I think, and the approaches I take. His workshops are laid back. And the experience and skill of those who attend is very diverse.
Regardless of each person’s experience, everyone is able to take the valuable informations and apply it to there work. You don’t find that in any workshop out there. At least I haven’t found it. It was not just JVS talking and flipping through images. It was hands on. He challenged us to shoot and allowed us to try anything in his kit. Some how everyone was able to take the valuable informations and apply it to there own work and style.
I don’t think there are enough words to say how thankful I am for attending both of JVS’ workshops. I would definitely take the workshops all over again, and I highly recommend it to every photographer.”
